Congratulations To The Houston Texans On Having The First Training Camp Fight Of The NFL Season
NFL training camp is awesome because it's the one time of the year guys can really be massive pieces of shit to their teammates, and the coaches love it because it shows how hard these guys are willing to compete for a roster spot. It really gives a lot of guys the green light they've been looking for to just be the biggest dickhead they could possibly be.
It's boiling hot outside. The pads are on for the first time in months. Emotions are running high with only so many roster spots available. Somehow you have to get the attention of the coaching staff to keep you around long enough to give yourself a chance of making a play out there. The quickest cheat code for that is to start up a little brouhaha during practice. Then when it comes time for all the coaches to sit in a room and talk about cuts, your name gets brought up and you'll have coaches say things like "he wants it" and "brings a lot of energy to practice". Boom. You just bought yourself a few extra days at camp.
Football isn't truly back until there's at least one scrap at an NFL training camp. So thank you to the Houston Texans on officially kicking off the 2024 football season. Can't wait for at least 4 or 5 more fights to show up on Twitter later today.
